Are you passionate about sustainable agriculture and ready to make a real impact on how we grow food? Our company builds cutting-edge AI-based tools that help vegetable growers produce more, better harvests with fewer resources.
We're looking for a hands-on Plant Science Intern to join our team and bridge the gap between practical growing experience and innovative software solutions.
At our core, we believe in supporting growers with intelligent tools. As a Plant Science Intern, you'll work closely with our plant scientists, data experts, and software engineers to translate real-world cultivation challenges into data-driven solutions. You will conduct greenhouse experiments, interview growers and industry experts. This isn't a lab-coat research role – we're seeking someone who understands the nuances of the greenhouse environment and has practical experience working with plants.
Your project will be determined in consultation with you, ensuring it aligns with your interests and our company goals. Potential topics could include:
Understanding Plant Balance in Pepper Cultivation: Researching and developing practical methods to determine optimal plant balance for pepper crops, translating these insights into actionable data for growers.
Modeling Pest & Disease Impact on Harvest: Exploring how pest pressure and diseases affect crop yield and quality, and contributing to models that predict and mitigate these impacts.
If you have a knack for problem-solving, a desire to learn, and an interest in how data and technology can change agriculture, we want to hear from you!
Job requirements
You have a practical background in vegetable cultivation – perhaps you've worked in a greenhouse, on a farm, or have hands-on experience with crop management.
You possess a strong understanding of plant growth and physiology in a commercial setting.
You have an affinity for data and a curiosity for coding. While not essential, basic experience with data analysis tools or programming languages is a significant plus.
You're eager to apply your practical knowledge to a software development environment.
You are a Bachelor's or Master's student in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field.
You have a good command of English that allows you to freely communicate in a work setting.
You are based in the Netherlands
You have a valid driver's license for the Netherlands
You are available for a minimum duration of 4 months and at least 3 days per week, preferred start date per July 1st
