We are looking for a Manager Accounting to lead the financial accounting domain. Together with one direct report, you are 100% responsible for all our accounting, reporting and financial compliance. Next to this, you also play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, driving budget compliance, cost consciousness and overall insights in our business results in collaboration with the FP&A Manager. You will be reporting directly to our COO.
You’ll serve as the go-to expert for accounting questions, manage relationships with external stakeholders like auditors and tax advisors, and work closely with internal teams such as operations, sales, marketing, and engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by enhancing processes, systems, and controls in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
What we would like you to get excited about
Financial Reporting and Compliance
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Monitor and report on budget variances, providing actionable financial insights to support management decisions.
Ensure proper consolidation and management of inter-company relationships across Source companies (including our US entity)
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Stay updated on and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and accounting regulations.
Internal Controls and Process Improvement
Maintain and improve internal controls to enhance the reliability of financial reporting.
Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements in accounting operations.
Serve as a key liaison during external audits and regulatory reviews.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and mentor the junior financial accountant by setting goals, providing coaching, and ensuring tasks are completed on time with high-quality results.
Special Projects
Contribute to key company initiatives, including system implementations, fundraising efforts, and tax audits.
Lead or participate in cross-functional projects that drive strategic growth and operational excellence.
Job requirements
You have
5+ years of experience in accounting, including demonstrated experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
Solid foundation in Dutch and international accounting principles, with hands-on experience in financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Clear communication style with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
